MARTIAL COSYN
French born Martial Cosyn studied watercolour painting at Les Beaux Arts de Paris which nurtured his early interest in art. Martial went on to pursue other passions and became a celebrated chef in both France and England before relocating to Australia and operating several hospitality establishments. Alongside his love of food, his affair with art continued and he studied drawing, painting, ceramics and woodwork.
Initially favouring soft pastels and still life, Martial now paints predominantly with oils, working from his garden studio in the Southern Highlands. Martial’s work emanates joy and whimsy, capturing the simple pleasures of everyday life, his love of good food, friends and family and his French heritage.
