MELANIE VUGICH

Running free in the outback town of Broken Hill as a child gave Melanie Vugich a deep love of nature that has always influenced her work. She started drawing at a young age and knew early on that this was the path for her. This dream led her to Italy and the Tuscan city of Florence which became her home for 25 years, she worked as a fabric designer and was introduced to a dynamic artist community. Melanie travelled whenever she could through Europe, painted as much as possible and took part in many solo and group exhibitions. When she finally returned to Australia, Melanie made beachside Bronte her base and promised herself that she would swim and paint every day. In the years since, she has focused on capturing the wild beauty of nature and sharing her passion for colour, composition and the small but meaningful objects that surround us.
