JONATHAN GEMMELL
Jonathan W Gemmell is a Melbourne based contemporary artist known for his vibrant large scale paintings inspired by nature, imagination and the emotional power of colour. Expressive brushwork, rich layers of texture and intuitive mark making combine to create striking works that feel both energetic and yet calming. Rather than painting literal scenes, Jonathan seeks to create the feeling of being in Nature, the wind moving across hills, the shifting of light or mist rising from water.
