Vanessa Encarnacao
Vanessa’s work ranges across a variety of artistic mediums and styles, often exploring botanical, still life and landscape themes that are innately Australian with a strong focus on mood and colour.
Her art making is constant and prolific; from pen drawings to mixed media works and acrylic and oil paintings and her themes and approach are ever changing.
Works are rarely planned; they are usually instinctual, gathering ideas from her immediate and surrounding environments. Vanessa mostly works from life or sometimes from photographs, which are usually abandoned once the work has taken hold.
Vanessa is interested in capturing a likeness or representation of her subject, however, her main focus is setting a mood and evoking a feeling or memory rather than exact detail in her works.
Vanessa’s works have recently been selected for a number of group exhibitions in Australia.
Her works are in private collections throughout Australia, the United Kingdom, Asia and America.
