Melissa Guest

A lifelong love of art has led Melissa Guest to take her surroundings and experiences and produce a myriad of compositions full of colour, line and shape. Her works become painted collages of bold and colourful geometric shapes and loose abstractions of the places she frequents. Melissa keeps an eye out for materials relevant to the pieces she is painting and historical newspaper cuttings often feature. She captures the true essence of a place through shape and typography and the iconic colours of Sydney Harbour are instantly recognisable to the viewer. Melissa resides in inner west Sydney but her pieces often tell the stories of her rural road trips and international adventures too!
